Abusive Relationship
I used to think that hitting your partner is a big NO-NO in a relationship, whether it's the guy hitting the girl or the girl hitting the guy, it is still wrong. Hitting a person that is a lot weaker than you is of course a cowardly act, why hit someone who can't fight back? Some may deserve it, like the girlfriend insulting the boyfriend's family or calling his mother a whore wtf, or the boyfriend two-timed the girlfriend, then yes, I do think they deserve a slap on the face. But not to the extend of doing it in public, or punching and pinching till blood oozes out.

A few weeks ago, my friends and I saw a couple quarelling right in front of our dormitories. Being the '38' we were, we just sat down on the benches in the cafe (the cafe is situated right in front of the dormitories) and watch like monkeys. The couple is quite at a distance though so we can't really hear what were they quarelling about. Then suddenly the guy started to slap the girl, not once but countless of times! I was really shocked because I've never witnessed these stuff first hand, only on TVB dramas though wtf. The girl just stood there, letting her boyfriend slap her a few times, right in front of other students passing by! The guy was shouting, pointing his fingers right in front of his girlfriend's face and simultaneously slapping her. And right at that moment, I told my friends that no matter how much I love my boyfriend, I will definitely not going to forgive and leave him if he laid his hands on me (hitting la not cuddling wtf!).

Fast forward back to a week later. I went back home to KK for a short break after my dreaded final project and presentation, I bumped into my dear friend, Sally whom I used to work with. Sally was this really cute girl with a big heart despite of her small frame figure. She was bubbly and her laughter was contagious! We sat down in Starbucks and have a few drinks and we started to catch up on things because I haven't seen this girl for 3 years! And she told me that she just got out from an abusive relationship with her boyfriend of 2 years. Her ex-boyfriend was literally imprisoning her life. No going out without the presence of the boyfriend and he will send and pick her up from work at the exact time. So if she was late for just a few minutes, the boyfriend will slap her, accusing her of flirting with other guys. There's one time, she even have to wash clothes while her nose was bleeding. Of course I was shocked and furious, because knowing her, I would never dream that this will happen to her because she was such a person with full of life. I asked her why the hell did she not leave him??? And silently she told me,

"I used to think my sister was stupid for letting her husband hit her but when it happened to me, I finally understand why my sister did not left her husband. It's because she loves him so much. The same thing goes for me..."

Her words made me think hard. I can't just freely say that I will immediately leave my boyfriend if he hit me because it has not happened to me. I don't know what it feels like to be hit by a loved one. But I do hope and pray these things does not happen to me or to the people around me.

So what do you think???? What if your partner hit you???? Will you stay with him/her? Or will you leave the relationship???
